I like _____ most
I like Steve York the best because I feel he overcame the most and is the easiest to react to. He is a simple teenager trying to outgrow the affects of having a heroic/celebrity father and divorce. He rebels against life and trys to make his way through. When he meets some people in a "rebelious" school group, his life takes a turn for the better. He starts hanging with friends, meeting girls, doing whats he wants, and just simply enjoying life. When it comes time to move to California, its all down hill from there. He becomes a bum, druggie, adn a nobody. He hardly shows up for school, gets high everyday, and makes no efforst at making friends. It isn't until his counselor tells him that in order to graduate he has to write a 100 page paper about anything to graduate that he actually tries and dicovers everything he wants in life. I find his life just interesting and so complex yet so simple.

Is the Setting Important?
The setting is important in this book. The book tells the story of a boy and how he went from being on top of the world in Texas to being a dropout-druggie in California and everything in between. The book is very descriptive of the setting and its always different. It starts in the counselors office in Cali and goes to the five bedroom ranch in Texas to the beach parties in San Diego to the lake house in Louisianna.

Questions I Have
Did Dub seduce Sky or was it the otherway around?
How does a junior in high school cheat on her boyfriend with a teacher?
How did Sarah not know about this when she is Dub's bestfriend and Steve's sister?
Why didn't Steve sit down and talk to Dub about anything rather than just skipping town and avoiding her?
Is there a sequel or movie for this book?
Why didn't he ever tell his dad about any of his achievments or accomplishments?
Why didn't he stay together with Allison?
